Shedrack Anderson

Legend in the making

Shedrack Anderson's new album HAMILTON PARK focuses on the importance of self worth and inspiration in a world that lacks real heroes.

A native of Los Angeles, Shedrack was introduced to the arts by his father at 5 years old. Shedrack got his big break as a lost boy in the Steven Spielberg film "Hook", he then starred in the NBC hit teen series Just Deal as the lovable Jermaine Green. He then became known to a world wide audience with the success of Fat Albert around the globe.Anderson attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where he was honored with the Ahmanson Scholarship and Emerging Artist of the Year Award from PBS. After high school, he attended The Juilliard School in New York, where he majored in dance and music. He was a principal dancer of Ballet Hispanico of New York and became an assistant choreographer for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. He released a highly acclaimed self produced album in 2001 and now is coming back with new work that will awe and inspire a new generation.

He decided to create an album using real instruments while fusing intoxicating hip hop and trap beats to bring a new type of sound to the soul genre. In order to make something different, he knew he needed to go back to his roots in the south. He went back to his grandparents old neighborhood, HAMILTON PARK,one of the first african american housing developments in the south. A place that has been forgotten by time in Dallas Texas. A place where there was no hope and dreams died long ago, to find answers and strength to fix the issues that plague us all on a daily basis. This album hopes to use music as a vehicle toward healing, compassion and mental health. The goal is for each individual to realize we can all make a positive impact on this world.
